This book on industry terminology is another labor of love in my repertoire of much-needed items for those interested in a career in the entertainment and beauty industry, especially film and television.

As an educator and a makeup artist who is passionate about her career and this industry, I felt the need to build upon my glossary of film and television terms that I have been compiling throughout my 30-year career.

Most recently I have added some common pop culture terms as well as print, fashion, and retail terms.

The more forums that I participate in on the Internet, and the more I lecture at events and in brick and mortar classrooms, the more I realize how necessary a tool this is.

As a working professional it is so important to speak the language you work in.

This little brown book is a comprehensive listing of some of the most commonly used terms and job descriptions found in our industry.  Each term and job description is listed alphabetically with cross-references to other similar terms.

Did I get every word and job description, or cover every facet of our industry?  Probably not, but it is a start.

Hopefully, while on set hearing a strange or unfamiliar word, you can now look it up and discover the meaning or the job description, without having to stop and ask someone.

Another labour of love...Enjoy!
